mechtorians by doktor a x mindstyle

an "official" blurb on MINDstyle's website: "Toy Fair opened today in New York City and MINDstyle launced the all new mini figure series from Doktor A. Long known for creating some of the most amazing custom figures, the good Doktor teams up with MINDstyle to deliver the MECHTORIANS. The first series of six characters is scheduled for a fall release. The word is out... next level." ... and courtesy of the good Doktor A, here are some seriously drool-worthy steampunk'd goodness:

besides Humbert Threadneedle and Sir Shilling Copperpenny (who we've been introduced to before), let's give a rousing welcome to Sentrywheel (one of the gate guards in Retropolis), and the distinguished gentleman; the Explorer Stephan Le Podd! ... the images shown are of prototype resins, hand-painted by Dok.A himself - and if MINDstyle replicates Dok's distinct flavor? fans are going to be clamoring for these 3-4 incher tall figures, mark my words! (but im sure you folks already know that by now, innit?) - do stay tuned for the other 2 fellows, yeh?

meanwhile, permit me to theorize the 'origins' of the Mechtorians, for we have indeed "met" them before, but as illustrations / prints! the Cephalapod was 1st seen on a blog-contest i held a while's back / both Sir Shilling and Mechtorian Tok Piece were previewed for Spit&Polish (no sign of the Mechtorian Heart tho :p) / and finally Anna Matic was part of a letterpressed print set (also done for Spit&Polish), innit?

MECHTORIAN_THEORY
okay, i go get a life now :p

EDIT: the above theory was based on a single sneak-image of the figures @ NYTF'08 - which has since been removed due to multiple "requests" to. so, apologies if it does not make sense to you folks reading now :p
