A while back, a slew of conceptual images hit the web - with many of the characters designed by the folks at Imaginism Studios (environment paintings shown here not done by them tho).
Alice In Wonderland has always been a story "ripe" for interpretations thru the years, from edgy comicbook re-envisions, to even vinyl toys (like Span of Sunset's Chesire Cat). Although who am I personally to hope that they do not veer too far off the fairy-tale (it's Tim Burton we be talking about here, ye gawds but do I heart his work LOL). But if there were any a quibble to be had, is Johnny Depp, who looks like a extreme-made-over Jack Sparrow crossed with a mutated Charlie Chocolate - not in any fault by the image-design, I insist! But perhaps there needs to be some new folks to join in Burton's posse, IMHO. Hell, I'm just thankful "Alice" isn't played by a screaming-Dakota Fanning! (cue Martian fog-horns in War of The Worlds ... heh).
Alice In Wonderland is due for release on March 5, 2010 (will be released in Disney Digital 3-D and IMAX 3-D, as well as 2-D).
