Giant Robots vs Kaiju: 'Pacific Rim' by Guillermo Del Toro

Giant Robots fighting Kaijus? Long revered as classic tv-shows and as well developed it's own toy-genre, and now we'll see it on the big screen, courtesy of director Guillermo Del Toro’s upcoming film PACIFIC RIM! Check out the above images of co-stars Charlie Hunnam and Rinko Kikuchi, and Idris Elba in armor (sorry, no kajus or giant robots shown yet ;p). And they've converted parts of Toronto into Tokyo! Looking forward to be seeing the developments of this film! Pacific Rim opens July 12, 2013.

WHAT: "When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju.
