Toy-Review: MAD APE from Mad*L Phase:4 by MAD Toy Design

>

With the variant editions of MAD's MAD*L Phase:4 ready to drop this Friday May 30th, TOYSREVIL takes the opportune time to take a closer-look + quick review of PHASE:4, starting with the blue vinyl simian known as "MAD APE"! But first things first, let's take a look at the packaging box-featuring splendid design by Jeremy Madl utilizing both matt and spot glossy prints. Individual figures are indicated by the stickers on top of the box, which is a clever way to utilize the boxes for any and all releases, IMHO.

Another aspect of the package (which I consider to be a part of the "package"), is the printed ziplock bag which contains the figure, inside the cardboard box. Perfect for ease of removing and storage of the piece, which again is another clever device to maintain figure quality integrity, and again promotion of the brand, IMHO.

Turnarounds of the 5-inch tall "MAD APE" piece, which features articulation in the neck only, but that to me is enough to provide it a level of character and "emotion" you can get from this piece - compared to loads of art toys out there, IMHO. A testament to the designer of the form! :)

The "Mad Ape" design is also one of the "regular" design-concepts Jeremy has used for other platforms and previously released customs, and sits perfect for this series, made celebrating the 10th year anniversary of The MAD*L brand figures!

The cream on the cake? MAD*Ls are currently made by Jeremy's own production / manufacturing label; SOLID Industries. *SWEET*

Signed by Jeremy Madl, this piece was available as a single before at www.madtoydesign.com, but currently only available via a SET of the 3 x MAD*Ls in Phase:4. Do check in with your fav retailer(s) otherwise. Meanwhile, check out individual images uploaded HERE in my dedicated Facebook-album.

Here's a look at the variant white with pink MAD APE to drop May 30th:
