Toy-Review: Baby CE from MAFIA Factory x CE Planet

Making it's debut at last weekend's Bangkok Comic Con 2014, was MAFIA Factory X CE Planet's BABY CE - a new DIY mini figure shorter than a BE@RBRICK but taller than a LEGO Mini Fig, a smaller version adaptation of the 3.5" tall Buddy CE. I've previously featured the piece, but now I have a chance to lay my hands on it, and am sharing images and my impressions about it with you folks!

Fully articulated, it is presented in a "hobby kit" styled-format familiar with hobby kit builds, with the body parts needing to be removed from the plate, to make your own figure. Of course I tried one piece! And yes, it does work! And while the articulation for the arms are not as tight as I had hoped, the legs seem pretty sturdy, as does the head (articulated at the neck), which makes for pretty decent "play", methinks!

BABY CE is a production figurine made of plastic (ABS I think), seen here standing amidst other indie artist resin-made figurines, ALL of whom are Made in Thailand as well!

Available in a variety of colors at #bkkcomiccon: Pink, Black, White and GID, there no doubt would be more colors to come - including Yellow for Giant Robot at San Diego Comic Con 2014 (July 24-27) in the U.S. - And one of the main reasons for BABY CE, was for it to be a customizable "art toy" construct, and from artist @miginpeding comes the first ever (publicly displayed) custom painted piece! From blank to color sketch, to finished painted piece, it looks a real darling, no? :)

The next time we look at Baby CE, we'll see what THIS particular piece does, in helping the mini fig compatible with other mini sized and LEGO fig attachments!

**All images and more for BABY CE has since been uploaded HERE on my Facebook album :)
