SATYR by Seulgie Drops June 18

Releasing this Thursday June 18th via peterkatoshop.com from 8pm eastern time are new resin figures named "SATYR", from artist Seulgie (seulgie.com / IG @seulgie). Her mentor Peter Kato has tons of stuff to share with TOYSREVIL about Seulgie too!
"Satyr is artist Seulgie's very first sculpture. Satyr is 4.5 inches tall , casted in various resin colors with hand painted details. The resin casts all come from Seugie's original hand sculpted sculpture. All production & design from concept, sculpting, molding , casting & hand painting is done by the artist herself…"
"…Truly hand sculpted and hand produced. This first run of Satyrs are limited to 6 pieces. Each Satyr is $85 and colors are listed: Skin tones will be Ivory, Beige or Cocoa. Hair will be White, Lilac, Mint or Yellow. Bottoms will be Blue, Mint, Pink or Lilac. Each figure will be listed individually on the shop site so you can choose the satyr of your choice. All sales will go to the artist Seulgie." -shared Peter Kato, who also adds; "Also available that night will be some Bedtime Danglers and Sleeptime bunnies that were detailed by Seulgie herself. She gave them the same details to match her first run of Satyrs. Sleeptime Bunnies are priced $12 each. Bedtime Bunnie Danglers are $15 each. "
PETER KATO INTRODUCES: "I'd like to introduce a new artist to this indie toy community that we so love. Her name is Seulgie and she started her apprenticeship under me in 2014. Like my first apprentice in 2013 Kevin Nam of Inamitoyland, Seuglie had no previous sculpting or studio experience at all. In the seven months she studied under me I taught her hand sculpting from scratch, silicone mold making, resin casting and techniques in sanding and finishing. She has come a long way and I am so proud of her ability, level of respect and hardwork. My students may have my knowledge and techniques but its so wonderful to see that their pieces really do come from themselves, their imagination, their art.

Seulgie has always been in love with cute little things. Drawing and making cute things are what she does for fun. She now loves hand sculpting , mold making, and resin casting figures from her imagination. And Satyr which we now present to you her first ever toy art figure. Her fondness for cuteness was reflected in Satyr's look. "
