“NOBODY” by THE GOOD HABIT Custom Toy Exhibition
PRESS: "The Good Habit was born some time in 2009 by one of Indonesia’s renowned graffiti artist. The said artist, who wishes to remain anonymous, spent his early years vandalising public property all over Indonesia in order to gain credit and recognition in the graffiti world. However, he has since stopped these ‘bad habits’ and as a turning point, left his vandalism lifestyle and changed his pseudonym to be known as “The Good Habit”.
The character NOBODY was created as a reflection of the artist himself. He considered himself as a “nobody” in the art world, and this motivated him to push forward to be recognised as SOMEBODY.
The Good Habit has sent out hundreds of NOBODY figures to hundreds of artists in the region to be customised, where these figures will be transformed from what is originally a NOBODY into finally, a SOMEBODY. Each figure has been painted, sculpted and altered by hand in order to tell their story.
This “NOBODY” exhibition involves four countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam, and are completely funded by all respective artists. Each country will be holding their own NOBODY exhibition.
To cap it all off, the combined NOBODY exhibition in Jakarta will be held from 5th December 2015 onwards, at the Dream Birds Gallery. With such volume of artists exhibiting at the same time, this will be a visual spectacle not to be missed."
