New Image for Live-Action FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST Film

A “new” image for the live-action FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST film (based on Hiromu Arakawa's manga of the same name) has been revealed on it’s official website - featuring the fully armoured “Alphonse Elric” standing next to his brother “Edward Elric” (played by Ryōsuke Yamada) - in lieu of any new footage, besides the earlier released teaser … as one of my Top Ten Films To Look Forward to in 2017!, it’s going to be one heck of a wait til it’s premiere in December!

Al's body proportions seems bit top-heavy/chunky, no? Shorter arms too ... if they are forgoing the "slightly more stylised look" for a more "realistic look", I am not too sure I like what I see here tho ... "realism" might be overrated, when it comes to "design", as it already is a fantastical fictional premise in the first place, so what more can you do to "convince" people of how "real" it is, rather than showcase a more pleasurable aesthetic, maybe? But that's just me, of course :)

Here’s another look at the teaser, which was released in November 2016

PLOT: ""When they were little, Edward Elric (Ryosuke Yamada) and younger brother Alphonse's mother passed away. The brothers attempt to revive their mother and perform a human transmutation which is taboo in alchemy. Their attempt fails. As a result, Edward loses part of his body and Alphonse loses his whole body. Edward sacrifices another part of his body to affix Alphonse's soul to a body of armor. Edward goes on to become an Alchemist. He sets out on a journey to find the “Philosopher's stone,” which has the power to get back what they lost."" (asianwiki.com)
