TRE: Tell us about your toys with MyTummyToys.
MANUEL HEISCHEL: cikcuk dunia fantasi is the name of all our toys, characters, elements etc, in this world. Me&my friend developed already over 80 characters and a lot of elements and graphics for that world, but the first/original & starting up character for all of this is cikcuk.


MANUEL HEISCHEL: Now we produce under Mytummytoys our first 9 characters /each 11 times, in the resin series which called: cikcuk dunia fantasi 99 RESIN SERIES (some pics of the process, the three pics of resin showing only the progress but not the finished dolls, 4 pics/one with black background and the 9 dolls in front of 99 resin series/ and the three pics with the resin dolls in progress}.

TRE: What is the origin of ckcuk dunia fantasi? How did it all start?
MANUEL HEISCHEL: I (Manuel Heischel) chreated cikcuk in 2006 during my exchange study at the ITB in Bandung, Indonesia. My friends always used the word cikcuk during our meetings or when we hang up/out back in these days. The meaning of this word is something positive, for example if someone does something nice, you say that's “cikcuk”, or if you do something outstanding, or in some positive, unexpected situations. cikcuk is not an official indonesian word, its a slang word which is only used by my friends and now me and my friend in cikcuk dunia fantasi (Matthias Specht). Later I said to my friends, hey cikcuk sounds really cute - I will create a nice little character which says cikcuk. And that's how the story began.

I created it and so the name of this character was clear, the same with what it says "cikcuk". After a while, I ask my friends what phantasy world means in Bahasa Indonesia (indonesian), well the answer was Dunia Fantasi and so i added it to cikcuk and cikcuk dunia fantasi was born.


I started creating more characters for the world and I found a simple way to give them the names. Anytime a new character is born, it gets the name in the herachi ranking and the word freund (friend) will be added because he is a friend of cikcuk. For example the third character get the name: freind 3. But sometimes when I does not have the ranking overview the specific character gets another created name. When I came back to Germany one of my friends (Matthias Specht) joined cikcuk dunia fantasi and since then we design together cikcuk dunia fantasi and the world grows now since that in any direction.


TRE: What's the story in the world of cikcuk dunia fantasi?
MANUEL HEISCHEL: cikcuk dunia fantasi is the world of a little creature which called cikcuk and his freunde (friends) This creature is a cute little monster which represents the positive and kindness part of ourselves if we doing something good. For that stands the Indonesian word cikcuk. But there are always two sides of the individual expression. For that reason cikcuk has one monster companion in the cikcuk dunia fantsi. This creatures name is cancuk. That Indonesian word describes the negative and unkindness of ourselves if we doing something bad.

Both creatures reflect the two monsters inside us, the monster in good and the monster in bad. Then sometimes it might happen that the positiveness can turn into something bad. But in the same way it might be happen that negativeness can turn into something good. This reflects the design of monsters and freunde. They are monsters but still cute and friendly. The cuteness shall remind us that nobody has to be afraid about the two parts inside ourselves. It lies in our awaken to handle the both little monsters and freunde well in a good behaved way and lead them all through adventures and explorations in the cikcuk dunia fantasi.

The shape is based on first orignial character cikcuk but keeps evolving. The colors are icecream pastel or cyan-magenta-white-black. And as well anything what is written in text above is showing in the design as well.

TRE: Cool. What will you be bringing to STGCC? What should folks watch out for?
MANUEL HEISCHEL: The Toys I will bring to STGCC are made from RESIN and Plush (synthetic leahter). Ones are “cikcuk dunia fantasi 99 RESIN SERIES”(question 01) produced by MyTummyYoys, the others are Plush Dolls - the first plush series of cikcuk dunia fantasi and as well produced by ourself.

This characters will never produced again! Each series will have new designed Character for the resin series only.

TRE: When did this current journey all start?
MANUEL HEISCHEL: My stay In Indonesia 2006, that was the starting point. Some of our designs are inspired with special purpose. Its the Influance of our Tratitional German Handcrafted Wood Christmas Decorations/Toys/Elements. Which you will find reflected designed in cikcuk dunia fantasi. To keep the original german charm in our designs and to show our origin.


MANUEL HEISCHEL: (The above) pic shows an example, these Pyramide represents a Traditional Wood handcrafted Christmas Pyramide like we use it to Christmas in Germany in the cikcuk design for cikcuk dunia fantasi.is the one in the portrait format, which shows blue sky with big element with three seperations/glass bowls.


TRE: What are your inspirations?
MANUEL HEISCHEL: Inspirations come and go, they keep changing and there are to many to name it. For sure the written text under point 04 and the german history in toys with all world wide famous German Toys, German Traditional Toys and German Toy Companies.

TRE: Tell us more about what's going to happen at STGCC besides your toys.
MANUEL HEISCHEL: Joining the Artist painting and doodling at SGTCC itself for example with my friend The Killer Gerbil. At the both: Toy custom of Jouwe (from Marin/Mytummytoys), doodling at canvas. Presenting my Toys and my cikcuk Games developed with my friends from ORAYSTUDIOS (www.oraystudios.com) which can be played by everyone who visit our both from MyTommyToys.

TRE: What's next for you guys? What have you planned for the rest of the year?
MANUEL HEISCHEL: There will be collaborations with Fashion Brands like Mimsy/Clementine-16DS-UNKL347-little monik, own fashion & more from pohstel, working on more cikcuk Games with our friends from ORAYSTUDIOS, exhibitions in Asia/Europe. Planning to work on our own drink with MIZUMO in Germany. We gonna release our Book after STGCC by BOD in Germany but available world wide via ISBN order online or from Bookstores arround the World. Reopen Letshop (Sneaker Store for limited & collectable Sneakers with our friends in Bandung, Indonesia. We working on our Architecture projects of our own design studio Letsdesign at the moment only for Interior in Bandung, Indonesia. More Toys with our friends from Mytummytoys in RESIN and with our friends from TOC-The Other Culture-(www.plasticculture.net) in Plush. More Art Objects, Multi Media Arts & Paintings.
