WHO-IS: "Mr Kiasu is one of Singapore’s most regonisable comic icons in the 90s, bringing a brand of local humor that is greatly identifyable and relatable to Singaporeans everywhere. A caricature of a typical Singaporean who “does not like to lose”, the comic series has sold over 650,000 copies since its debut in 1990, with eight comic volumes and three spin-off titles; and also has a live-action drama series and various merchandise to its franchise." Mr Kiasu returns 18 year later, and will be relaunching in 2017 as a NEW comicbook/digest from Shogakukan Asia, “Mr Kiasu: Everything Also Like Real” will ”be sold at the CharaExpo 2017 which will be held at Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre on Sep 9 and 10. Mr Lau is scheduled to hold a talk and autograph session during the event.” (channelnewsasia.com) on the 10th of September (Timing TBC).

The creator of Mr. Kiasu, Mr. Johnny Lau will also be present for an exclusive autograph session, alongside Wetworks, on Sept 9th, 2017 at STGCC (3pm - 4pm).

Summary of the book: "Everything Also I Want!

After lying low for a while, Singapore icon Mr Kiasu is back… because Kiasu-ism never dies! Right now, not only must he deal with Time (short of), Space (lack of) and Money (not enough), he also has to confront the scariest enemy of all – Aging!

Being over 35 in 21st century Singapore is no joke, with retrenchment, tech disruption and millennials round every corner. Mr Kiasu may not be cool with the digital natives, but in uncertain times, Kiasu 2.0 might be the only answer!"
